My very first RTS (Real-Time Strategy) PC game was Dune II: The Building of a Dynasty back in 1992. Initially, I thought nothing of this game and even "tricked" my classmate into buying it. But he told me the game was great and I decided to give it a go. And yes, it turned out to be one of the pioneer game of this genre and the gaming company, Westwood, went on to create one of the most successful RTS franchise: Command & Conquer! (until EA acquired Westwood and destroyed this franchise...)
At that time, a little unknown company called Blizzard created a similar but different RTS called Warcraft in 1994. We all know what happened to Blizzard after that! Besides Warcraft, Blizzard spawned another franchise called Starcraft and this was the game my friends and I played from dusk till dawn everyday of our uni life!
