Guild Wars 2 Level 80 character #GuildWars2

2 days before the 1st anniversary of the launch of Guild Wars 2, I have finally reached Level 80!

I could have reached it much much sooner, but I stopped at level 25 or 26 in September 2012, where I started playing and completing Torchlight II (stopped in December 2012) and Galaxy on Fire 2 (stopped in April 2013). Then I went into a "gaming hiatus" until June 2013 where I started playing Marvel Heroes but stopped in July 2013 where I resumed playing Guild Wars 2 again. The feeling of going back to Tyria was THE best as compared to the other games I mentioned above.

So I am hoping now to finish off the personal story (only the last mission to go which involves killing Zhaitan) and I can then continue to play and level up my other characters (Mesmer, Elementalist, Warrior and Engineer).

Official Web Domain Name, Galaxy on Fire 2, Guild Wars 2

Today marks the day Old Fart Gamers obtains its official web domain name @ www.OldFartGamers.info !

Did you ask "why .info?" Because .com .net .org have all been registered by someone but they are not active on the internet! Then why hang onto them when they are not been utilized?

Oh, and I have finished the Galaxy on Fire 2 storyline exactly one week ago. Great fun!

Now I should really get back to Guild Wars 2!

Robert's Space Industries Presents: Star Citizen!

Today was indeed a glorious day for Space Sim fans, particularly for fans of the Wing Commmander, Privateer and Freelancer series (hey that's me, i am a fan!). Chris Roberts, creator of the Wing Commander series, had announced on his new website www.robertsspaceindustries.com that he will be creating a new Space Sim PC game called "Star Citizen".

Here are some interesting things about the game so far:
- Chris Roberts is asking for public funding. You can go to the website to "pledge" (donate).
- The game's revenue model will be like Guild Wars 2, where you only pay the initial cost of the game, and there is no subscription fee!
- You can choose to be "a smuggler, pirate, merchant, bounty hunter, or enlist as a pilot, protecting the borders from outside threats"
- The game may be completed in Nov 2014 (I saw this as the Delivery Estimate when I went to "pledge" for this game).

So if you are a true Space Sim fan, head on down to RSI and make you pledge!

And here's a concept art of two of the fighters (Wingnut and Lancer) in Star Citizen:

And here's the cinematic trailer for Star Citizen:

And here's my Golden Ticket for this crowd funding launch!

Enjoy! You can drool now...

Official Launch of Guild Wars 2

As compared to the launch of Diablo 3, the launch of Guild Wars 2 was hassle free here in Singapore. Instead of queuing up for a PC game (which I found disappointing later) distributed by an incompetent company that made me wait for eternity, I made a trip to my long time PC games vendor and bought Guild Wars 2 (which I pre-ordered from my vendor a month ago) over the counter! Easy as that!

And here's what I got, the basic version, sweet and simple...

...for a PC game that is engaging, complex, fun and well worth the money! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Guild Wars & Guild Wars 2

Guild Wars 2Guild Wars 2

7 years and 4 months later (ie. 200 years later in Tyria), welcome back to the world of Tyria. You write your own story...

ArenaNet has done it again! They have created yet another wonderful MMORPG game in the form of Guild Wars 2.  And again, the game does not require you to pay for monthly subscription, thus only charging you for the price of the game, and you are off to join the millions of heroes in perhaps ArenaNet's most successful game of all time, after Guild Wars.

Players can create their characters based on these professions: Warrior, Ranger, Elementalist, Mesmer, Necromancer, Guardian, Thief, and Engineer. This time, players can also choose different races as well: Asura, Sylvari, Human, Norn and Charr.  Each profession and race has its own unique attributes, skills, style and back story.

As for quests, you get to group up with other players and help one another. Again, you can also join existing guilds or set up your own guild, and fight against other players.  But this time round, you get to participate in Special Events and World vs World (WvW) even if you are not part of a guild!

And yet again, the world of Tyria changes constantly, like in the real world...

Release Date: Aug 28, 2012
Developer: ArenaNet

Guild Hall in Guild Wars

yes! today was the day my best friends and i finally got our very own Guild Hall in the MMORPG game, Guild Wars. check out our group photo here:

however, a few months after this was taken, one of them stopped playing because he was spending more time on World of Warcraft. then half a year later, i stopped playing because i had completed all the quests. so with one member left, this Guild Hall was abandoned, and all of us stopped playing this game.
